Prevent Your Tooth Loss With Root Canal Treatment!

Prevent Your Tooth Loss With Root Canal Treatment!

Root canal treatment is a treatment method applied to prevent tooth extraction due to caries and to relieve toothache. Root canal treatment is perceived as a painful procedure among the people. For this reason, many people avoid root canal treatment for fear of pain. However, thanks to modern techniques, root canals can be treated relatively painlessly and comfortably after one or two sessions.

When a tooth's nerve tissue or pulp is damaged, it breaks down and bacteria begin to multiply there. Bacteria can lead to a massive infection or abscess. With modern treatment methods, the endodontist can easily see the canal of the tooth and clean it deeply so that no nerve tissue remains. By closing the cleaned roots with a filling material, you can use your own teeth for longer years.

Some symptoms of conditions that require root canal treatment can be listed as follows:

Severe toothache while chewing or with applied pressure,
Swelling and tenderness in the gums,
Painful, persistent sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures
Permanent or recurrent white, yellow or red acne-like sores on the gums,
Tooth discoloration or darkening,
deep bruises,

Symptoms may not always be present. For this reason, it is important that you be examined regularly by your dentist. Your dentist can diagnose any of your symptoms and locate the caries with a panoramic x-ray. If left untreated, the tissue surrounding the tooth becomes infected and abscesses may form. Depending on the infection status of the tooth to be treated and the number of teeth to be treated, your root canal treatment can be performed in one session or several sessions.

In cases where root canal treatment is not performed, progressive caries causes greater damage to the dental pulp and surrounding tissues. As a result, tooth fractures and infections in the surrounding tissues may occur. In cases where it progresses further, the tooth may be lost. The success rate of root canal treatment is very high. A treated tooth can be used for life when regular oral and dental hygiene is provided.
